Brand Bargain Dupes.

Here it is, a post I haven't done in so long. I MISS youtube and I miss blogging SO much. Like this could easily be my life or a bit part of it. I just have it all in my head and jummbled to the point its over-flowing with ideas, tips, bargains, diy fixes, fashion faults, the LOT. It drives me screwy. So I'm guessing this is the only way I'm going to be able to display my brain visually. Here it goes.

In the past few months I've been getting even more peeved with the fact I'm seeing items for ridiculous prices in top high street stores/online/ebay etc that are designer or brand in some way that you can EASILY attain elsewhere for a hell of alot less. It just takes a little more work. So whats an extra bus ride or half an hour of hunting gonna do to you, apart from take up a little of your time and saves you massive bucks. Here's the few things I've found recently anyway.

This is the "Nfu oh" nail polish line, I ABSOLUTELY ADORE IT, in fact beyond that, I'm in love with ALL the unusual shades and the bottle design, the lot. Except, the price.
These range from £11 on ebay if your lucky per bottle to £18.00 on some websites. Which I think is ludicrous for one bottle. :( However. I have found a brand that is pretty darn close, it's not chinaglaze, opi or anything like that. This is one I haven't heard before, but I'm guessing is an american brand? Others may know it well, but it's a fab substitute and if your in the UK or elsewhere it's available on ebay in sets for less than £15.00 inc p & P! So I've ordered some which I'll do swatches to when they arrive.

Ok so the colours are SLIGHTLY different but you get the point and they look JUST as good on the nails. This is the set I have bought. LOOK:

The next thing is from ASOS! Don't get me wrong, I do like this company alot, I just feel that things are becoming repetitive with the items they sell. They're all very much like the high street brands, I don't know who copies who or if they all get the same idea's from catwalk/fashion shows and ista's but it really bugs me when there's a lack of realism into the clothes people WOULD actually wear and there's no uniqueness anymore. It's just bring back clothes from the past and re-circle them like they're new?!!

These earrings WERE £12.00 (which I'd have never paid for them) down to £5.00, they're like £2.50 in Primark or something, EXACTLY THE SAME STYLE. I don't have a picture of the Primark ones because obviously they don't have a website with their items on show to buy online (which I think is a massive mistake and they could make HUGE profits on). but hey...that's another blog post. I know these are highly in fashion right now, but really I just don't get the curtain tassle look...maybe I'm just picky.

The next thing is what really bugs me and I recently found out it bugs many others too including celebs like "Gok Wan". I don't know how many have seen the episode where he turns this GORGEOUS nude bodice/corset into this fab jewel infested work of amazingness. He uses just a glue gun and cheap mixed with a few pricier acrylic gems from hobby/craft shops or nail designs or whatever and glued them all over. It was truely inspiring. I've seen many punks do the same for years with their patches/badges/diamond studs etc. It annoyed me to then see designer shoes like this with them in charging against the odds for their name being inside the freakin shoe which no one is ever gonna see and will scuff like any £10 pair of shoes from Primark, but with a bigger ouchie on your moolars. (money).

Here: From: GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI DESIGN (farfetch.com)
Price £329 THATS WITH 50% OFF IT WAS £658.00!! WTF!! WTF!! WTF!!

WHY WHY would anyone pay those kinds of prices, I'm sorry even if I was rich I wouldn't buy half the shoes the designers come up with unless they're made of gold, have live fish inside the wedges of the platforms or is covered in some moon dust from space itself. It's ridiculous, people are starving and dying in countries and there are people who think their lives would end without these stupidly overpriced pieces of rubbish.

Anyway you could just buy £5.00 or less shoes from a charity shop or even peacocks or something and get a studded hair bow, take the clip or hair grip off it and use a hot glue gun or even superglue/fabric glue and stick it on the back. Et voila, "designer" look for £320.00 off!!

I have soooo many of these, but I don't want to bore you to death, let me know if you want to see more of my bargain saves and dupes. :)
